Michelle Roshanzamir is a consultant, writer, and producer helping creatives and leaders bring their ideas to life.

She works with various leaders and creatives to bridge the gap between creativity and idea and business, coordination and management.

Although you are passionate about your work, you may feel overwhelmed when it comes time to organize and turn your ideas into a concrete, results-driven plan.

It is possible to have real-world strategies that will help you grow your business and bring your ideas to life.

You can do more of the things you love and still be able to move forward with confidence in your ideas and your business.

This will allow you to continue doing what you love while meeting your goals and values.

She works with creatives and leaders in the entertainment, arts, and culture sectors.

These include writers, performers, artists, and leaders at non-profit and for-profit organizations and managers and leaders.

What is the story of MVR Creative?

When I was in college, the germ of what I do was born.

I was an art student and was not interested in business management despite my growing interest in it.

Although my experience at the California Institute of the Arts was very impactful, I decided that I wanted to learn more, so I enrolled in the MBA/MFA theatre management program at California State University, Long Beach.

I balanced the ‘business side and the ‘art side’ of my work and wanted to continue doing it. It was an excellent combination.

I had one semester remaining in the MBA/MFA program, so I decided to stop the MFA part of the program and focus solely on the MBA.

It wasn’t easy, but it proved to be a wise decision.

I decided to focus more on the MBA side and took courses.

I also continued to develop the skills that I still use today.

My experiences outside school were just as valuable, even though they were beneficial.

I am constantly struck by the difficulty creative leaders and managers – many of whom work in the entertainment and culture sectors – have with managing the business side of their projects.

I continued to work at the intersections of ideas, stories, and business. In 2019, MVR Creative was founded.

How do you stay productive?

Although it can vary, most of my time is spent on client work and administrative tasks.

It has been a great help to plan my time and have a lesson or to-do list.

Aside from work, I get some exercise in and some downtime and spend time with my family and friends.

How do you bring ideas to life?

I usually work with individuals or organizations to develop and implement strategies.

Management and coordination of events or projects

Identifying funding opportunities and pursuing them, including funding

It is possible to have real-world strategies and support to help bring your ideas to reality.

What’s your favorite trend?

I am curious about the future of NFT and how it will impact the entertainment and arts industries.

COVID required many businesses and individuals to change how they do business.

I am curious about how things will turn out.

What habits make you productive?

I can plan my time and give myself some flexibility.

What’s your advice for the Noob?

It is essential to let go of my path.

It’s OK to share what you do with people and offer help – it’s OK!

What is one thing we can all agree on?

This doesn’t fall in the “something that’s the truth that almost nobody disagrees with me on” camp.

But real artists, or creatives, don’t suffer.

This myth of the “starving artist” has been around for quite some time, and it doesn’t help anyone.

It’s a long history of creatives being paid for their work (and some business savvy) that it won’t hurt anyone.

What do you recommend as an entrepreneur?

While the work will continue to get done, make sure you take care of your mental and physical health.

It can profoundly impact our behavior and set a positive example for those around us.

It is possible to have real-world support and strategies that will help you make your idea a reality.

You can’t do everything by yourself.

What’s your rich strategy?

Follow-ups are powerful! A lot of my work is one-on-1.

I have been able to connect with more people by simply following up.

How do you overcome Failure?

Although I knew what I wanted to do, I wasn’t clear on it.

This changed quickly after I lost out on potential clients.

Even though it starts with an introductory package, I wish I had more boxes set up sooner than I did.

Can you share a business idea?

These are the three:
1. Re-sell market/items
2. Custom jewelry and other products
3. Copywriting and editing services

What’s your recent best buy?

Recently, I had a massage, and I am so glad I did.

It was something I could do for myself, and it made me feel like a whole new person.

What are your favorite Softwares or Apps?

Trello is so helpful! Their site has helped plan things such as a marketing calendar.

Which book would you recommend?

Only one? You can find it in the Art of Relevance’ written by Nina Simon, or hustle and Float’ written by Rahaf Harfoush.

Both books examine how we show up and do our work.

Personal note: The book’You’s Not OK by Megan Devine proved to be a game-changer after an unexpected loss earlier in the year.

What’s your favorite quote?

Although I’m not sure if there is one quote that I like the most, it’s a Rumi one: “It’s your path and yours alone.

Others may walk it with it, but no one can take it for you.”

TL;DR by Michelle Roshanzamir

You can plan your time, or you can use your time.

Keep following up

You will still have to do the work, but make sure you care for yourself.

It is possible to have real-world support to help bring your ideas to reality.
