Where did the idea for your career come from?
As a child, I witnessed family and neighbors suffering from illnesses. This inspired me to become a doctor to help people live healthier lives. After earning a medical degree in Western medicine in China and experiencing personal healing through traditional Chinese medicine, I pursued training in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. From age six, I studied tai chi and mastered several Eastern disciplines. I combined Western medicine with ancient wisdom to create Soul Mind Body Medicine, teaching powerful techniques for healing and life transformation.
What is your typical day, and how do you make it productive?
Tao, the Ultimate Source, guides my focus and energy. I teach healing and spiritual wisdom daily, holding four online sessions weekly, plus longer workshops and retreats throughout the year. I participate in business meetings, offer healing and blessings, and respond to media requests. I’m constantly creating new ways to serve humanity, including books, audio recordings, and products like Tao Water. I rarely offer private consultations now, as I’ve trained many “soul healers.” I study ancient wisdom, communicate with Tao Source, and meditate regularly.
How do you bring ideas to life?
I’ve trained nearly 200 Master Teachers who help lead events and programs. My top teachers and staff assist in editing books and delivering teachings worldwide. I value ideas from everyone in the organization as we create events, services, and products. Recently, my team guided me to create successful NFTs.
What’s one trend that excites you?
I’m excited by the growing global openness to alternative healing and life transformation approaches. While I respect Western medicine, I’ve seen how complementary approaches and self-healing practices can help people discover their power to heal and improve their lives.
What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?
Rather than relying solely on logical thinking, I trust my spiritual guidance from my soul and Tao. I value input from team members but ultimately follow Tao’s guidance. Additionally, I’ve built a strong, worldwide team across twelve Master Sha Tao Centers. Their support is crucial to realizing my vision of service to humanity.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I’m grateful for the loving foundation my parents provided. They taught me to handle life positively and to serve others unconditionally. My mother exemplified opening her heart to those in need, while my father demonstrated humble and compassionate leadership. Their guidance shaped who I am today. I’ve been blessed with great teachers throughout my life, so there’s no specific advice I’d give my younger self. I had the wisdom to learn from my parents and teachers all along.
Tell us something true that almost nobody agrees with you on.
Many people underestimate the power of the soul. While meditation and mind-over-matter techniques are beneficial, soul-over-matter is more powerful. The soul can manifest change. When we align our soul, heart, mind, and body, and connect with higher souls, we access our greatest transformative power. This is the essence of the complete soul healing system.
As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do repeatedly and recommend everyone else do?
I deeply believe that life’s purpose is to serve. In all my work, I focus on serving others and bringing more love, peace, and harmony to the world. Serving from the heart and soul is key to success.
What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business?
“Soul marketing” has been crucial to growing my business. The Tao Calligraphy Healing Field and Tao teachings continue to expand by connecting with my soul and using soul communication.
What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?
I wouldn’t call it a failure, but my family would appreciate more time with me. They understand and support my mission, and are vital members of my extended team. We share unconditional love.
What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers?
Integrating soul power and wisdom into your business can lead to greater success. In my book “Soul Over Matter,” co-written with Adam Markel, I share universal laws and practices for creating abundance in business, finances, and relationships. The key is connecting with the soul, which is the essence of the Tao Calligraphy Healing Field.
What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why?
I don’t personally shop or make purchases. My family and assistants handle my essential needs. I do enjoy hosting celebratory meals occasionally.
What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive?
The ability to offer classes and workshops online has been immensely helpful in reaching thousands of people worldwide.
What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?
I recommend the ancient classic “Tao Te Ching” by Lao Tzu. It’s been studied for over 2,500 years and is one of the most-translated books in history. Though brief, each sentence carries profound wisdom applicable to every aspect of life.
What is your favorite quote?
I have two favorite quotes:
“I have the power to heal myself. You have the power to heal yourself. Together, we have the power to heal the world.” – Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha
And from Lao Tzu: “Sit at home to know everything in the universe.” This speaks to the power of fully opening our spiritual communication channels.
Key Learnings:
