Ben Bair is the CEO and Managing Partner of LumaCare Lasers, where he leads the company’s mission of improving lives through advanced cold laser therapy technology. With a career spanning real estate, enterprise software, startup leadership, and manufacturing, Ben has consistently demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and a passion for building high-performing teams.
His entrepreneurial journey began early, working in his family’s frozen yogurt business before developing leadership skills at West Point and earning an Economics degree from the University of Utah. Throughout his career, Ben achieved top-performing sales records at SolarWinds, helped scale startup Zight from $2.5M to $6M in annual recurring revenue, and ultimately joined LumaCare to combine his leadership experience with a product he personally believes in after using cold laser therapy during his Achilles tendon recovery.
Driven by consistency, vision, and a commitment to helping others, Ben believes success comes from embracing challenges, continuously improving, and inspiring those around you. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, skiing, reading science fiction, caring for his chickens, and spending time with family while continuing to pursue personal and professional growth.
What inspired you to build “LumaCare Lasers”?
After tearing my Achilles in 2025, I experienced firsthand how cold laser therapy accelerated my recovery and helped me return to an active lifestyle months earlier than expected. Around that time, Brandon and Andy Nelson approached me with the opportunity to lead LumaCare. The chance to combine a product I genuinely believed in with my passion for leadership and helping people made it an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
What challenges did you overcome at the beginning of your journey?
My career has required multiple professional reinventions. I’ve transitioned from real estate to technology, from enterprise software to startup leadership, and eventually into medical technology. Along the way, I also faced the physical and mental challenge of recovering from a significant Achilles injury. Every setback strengthened my resilience and reinforced my ability to adapt and lead through change.
What is unique about your business?
LumaCare stands apart because we have one of the best-engineered cold laser therapy products available. We’re focused on providing an effective, drug-free solution that genuinely improves people’s quality of life. Knowing we’re solving real problems with innovative technology is what motivates our entire team every day.
Is there anything you would have done differently when starting?
I would tell my younger self to become an entrepreneur much earlier. It would have allowed me to lean into my natural leadership abilities, creativity, and visionary mindset sooner while building something of my own.
What advice would you give to someone trying to become an entrepreneur?
Always start with a plan, but don’t become attached to it. Be willing to adjust, pivot, and adapt as circumstances change. Success requires patience, consistency, and the ability to step away when necessary, reset your mindset, and return with a fresh perspective.
What are the qualities of a good entrepreneur?
A successful entrepreneur has hustle, adaptability, and the ability to see the bigger picture. They constantly work to improve themselves, embrace challenges, and understand that growth comes from continuously leveling up both personally and professionally.
How do you define success?
Success comes down to three things: consistency, staying inspired, and always having something meaningful to chase. Whether it’s achieving a goal, improving yourself, or helping others succeed, maintaining purpose and momentum is what creates lasting success.
What’s your favorite book or podcast, and why?
One of my favorite podcasts is Habits and Hustle with Jen Cohen because it offers valuable insights into building successful habits, developing discipline, and maintaining the mindset necessary for long-term personal and professional growth.
What strategies did you first use for marketing your business?
One of the biggest strategies I’ve relied on throughout my career is continuously leveling myself up. Understanding what motivates both yourself and others, building meaningful relationships, and staying adaptable allows you to create lasting business growth. Focusing on personal development ultimately translates into stronger leadership, better customer relationships, and long-term success.
TL; DR by Bair
I believe success comes from consistency, resilience, and continuously challenging yourself to grow. By embracing change, leading with purpose, and staying committed to helping others, I’ve been able to turn every challenge into an opportunity to build something meaningful while improving lives through innovative technology.
